Getting the most out of your limo

Do you have a party, or social event to go to and do you want to travel in a sumptuous vehicle? Well we now have the wonderful limousine service, thanks to those pioneers, who used them in the 1920’s and thought they’d be fun and useful. A limo hire is basically an opportunity for you to to rent an hour or 2 or 3 of a luxurious vehicle and a dedicated driver. And you can go exactly where you want, what heaven, some would say, others may not.

There are lots of limousine companies now and there usually is one in each town, or one can get there quite easily. It is quite normal now to see a limo and ride in one yourself. But before you consider hiring a limo, there a few items for you to consider and a lot of people don’t bother and can be surprised by the bill. So it is better to understand what the relevant charges will be before you agree to a ride.  As ever it is ale-ways better to be forewarned and forearmed, because it would be too late once you get the bill.

There are 2 ways to charge for a limo, it is either by time , usually an hourly basis or by distance covered. You need to check the contract and this can be achieved by asking some simple questions, one of which is if you don’t take the limo at the last moment, is this chargeable and if you have already paid, how do you get your money back? Or what happens if the chauffeur was not up to scratch? What happens if the limousine breaks down?

All these questions can either be answered by asking the questions or by reading the contract. Another good one, is the condition of the limo, is it up to what is being sold and your expectations, there are some old limos out there. Are you really getting what you think and will pay for? These questions are a little tedious but very important if it all goes wrong.

One of the best signs to show if a limo company isn’t very good, is word of mouth, what is known about them, just phone them up and listen to how they answer the phone, how polite, how interested, how disinterested, are they rude, do they care, are they too busy? There are literally lots of ways to find out. look at their website, that is a good sign of a company, is it professional, does it have lots of good content, or is it just a one pager that is there for presence only?

And does the driver know the local area and is he or she qualified to drive the limo? Knowing the local area is very important as these limousines are very long and if you do not know the area, getting stuck or bottoming out is easy to do and basically wastes your time that you are paying for.

The last thing to consider is to compare 3  companies, start with 5 if you can and note down what they offer and their prices, then do the telephone test to see if they score highly there, this is all your own opinion. And even go to a spreadsheet to note the items down and find out exactly what you get and more importantly what you don’t get for your money.

Never be afraid to ask exactly what you get for your money in writing.
